Commissioned for a UK client, completed in 2020.

Oil on linen canvas, 24 x 32 inches.  

Néréide, commanded by the dashing Nesbit Wilkloughby, under heavy fire from the French Bellone. The Battle of Grand Port is noted as the most significant defeat for the Royal Navy during the Napoleonic Wars... In France the action was greeted with celebration, and it became the only naval battle commemorated on the Arc de Triomphe.
