Geoff wrote: "The two British ships having fallen foul of each other, Perry calmly takes Niagara across both of them, raking them. I don't know for sure how the sail was handled aboard Niagara, but I suspect that Perry would have slowed his progress as much as possible, most likely by shivering or backing the main topsail, to allow the maximum time for raking his opponents. The time is about 2.30pm."
