In August 2001 the America's Cup Jubilee Regatta was held at Cowes to commemorate the original race – then called the 100 Guineas Cup – round the Isle of Wight in August 1851.
The regatta attracted a host of boats of all types and classes. Listed among the classic boats were the schooners Zaca a te Moana, named after a Maori princess (foreground), and Mariette, whose predecessor had won the famous Ocean Cup Race in 1905, setting a record for crossing the Atlantic under racing conditions which stands to this day.
Here the two schooners are sailing together in the Solent.
