Oil on canvas, 24 x 36 inches, commissioned by Art Marine for a client in Pakistan.
On the afternoon of 28th January 1819, the British East India Company squadron, led by Sir Stamford Raffles aboard the Indiana, anchored off St John's Island. The scene is one of quiet anticipation before the formal founding of modern Singapore, featuring the Indiana and the accompanying schooner Enterprise moored in the tropical waters, with the largely undeveloped, jungle-covered coast of Singapore visible in the background.
