Lugger racing has become a firmly established part of the vibrant traditional boat scene. This painting shows the 1906 40' Cornish Lugger 'Reliance' leading the fleet off the south Cornwall coast. 'Reliance' is an engineless dipping lugger which for many years fished out of Mevagissy.
