Tenby in SW Wales was the port of choice for Brixham Trawlers working the Bristol Channel. Conveniently situated with a rail link for quick dispatch of landed catch and a relatively easy place to enter and leave under sail it is easy to understand why it was so popular and photographs of the period often show the harbour packed with Devon fishermen.

On the left BM 247, Elsie May is hauling down her topsail and is about to luff into the moorings whilst to the right foreground the skipper of DH 325 White Violet is watching the manoeuvre with a no doubt critical eye.
